The Access store provides hand cycles and mobility ad-on devices for people with disabilities. They have been involved with Manitoba Wheelchair Sport Association for almost 30 years.

Over the years, David Tweed has participated in wheelchair sport as a volunteer and athlete. “As the owner of The Access Store I’ve always had an emphasis on providing recreational/sport equipment to people with disabilities and have supported both the rugby & Basketball teams throughout the years. My first hand knowledge of disability and sports helps relate very well to people looking for outdoor/sporting activities”.

      • Purchased 7 tandem bikes of various sizes, piloted by VIRN volunteers
      • Plans to meet and ride once a weekday, in the evening at Assiniboine Park.
      • All skill levels are invited to join and new pilot volunteers are welcome
      • The goal is to create an Accessible and safe environment for persons who cannot cycle on their own
      • VIRN would like to join other organizations in creating/participating in an adaptive, indoor spin class
