*FREE Film Screening* Cripping Climate Adaptation: Disability Justice and Climate Change

November 17, 2023 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm

The poster reads, cripping climate adaptation with a cartoon style drawing of a person in a wheelchair facing a person with a seeing eye dog and cane. They look to be younger and having a conversation.

YOU ARE INVITED to the premiere screening of the ground-breaking film “Cripping Climate Adaptation: Disability Justice and Climate Change”.

People with disabilities are the world’s largest minority group and are disproportionately affected by climate change. This 13-minute film aims to enhance our understanding of how climate issues directly impact the lives of disabled people, who hold valuable insights and solutions that can be integrated into climate adaptation decision-making.

The Screening will be followed by a lively panel discussion. And the afternoon will close with facilitated conversations focused on shedding light on this critical intersection of disability and climate, and paving the way for inclusive solutions to climate adaptation. Bringing our voices together at this event we hope to facilitate a greater understanding of the important strides we can take to address climate change with the inclusion of disabled voices and perspectives.

Thank you for considering our request, and we look forward to your support in making this event a success.
