Come celebrate the launch of a new program run by Winnipeg Trails’ staff Olex Korniiko, a professional coach and mentor.

Where: Kildonan Park Golf Course Club House

When: Saturday January 6th – Programming exclusive to persons with disabilities starts at 11:00am.

Olex is a former paralympic athlete and a remarkable person with a passion for getting everyone outdoors. Regardless of whether you want to be an athlete or simply get a bit more active, this is not an event to miss.

Learn about our first batch of winter programs. All of them are meant to connect people in the disabilities communities with each other and are designed to keep you moving. Expect fun weekly activities inside and outside and a growing community of friends with shared experiences.

10:45am- Early Registration/Coffee
11:00am-11:30 – Olexercise #1 –  Join the first of a weekly series of exercises designed to get the blood flowin’. Can;t get to KP? Join us online. Participants are encouraged to come in person if they can,  but we’ll also have “the big screen” setup too.  Google Meets link for anyone joining from home.

11:45-12:20 – Pizza and let’s talk… guns? – Take a break while we introduce the schedule of events we have planned this winter (more biathlon laser guns anyone??) and look for your ideas and feedback for excursions and spring/summer plans.

12:20 – Short video launch –  Launch of a video we made this past February

12:30 -… Let’s ski! – Get the first crack at the mobile ski library. or snowshoe/kicksled/handcycle.. You choose. If needed, some adapted equipment is available. If you have some adapted equipment of your own, bring some to show and tell.
