Board Members
Jarrett Yaworski – President
Jarrett was first introduced to accessible sport in November 2013 by a friend who invited him to come assist in coaching wheelchair basketball. He has remained a long-term dedicated volunteer and accessible sports advocate. Jarrett is also one of the founders of ASC Manitoba.
Jared Funk – Vice President
Jared Funk is a 3 time Paralympic medalist in wheelchair rugby and played with Team Canada for 13 years. He has worked as a Rehabilitation Counsellor Assistant for Spinal Cord Injury Manitoba and with RBC and Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries in there Customer Relations Department. He has been involved in many different accessible sport and general disability awareness initiatives throughout the past 25 years.
Terry Pratt – Treasurer
Terry is ASC MB’s treasurer. He is a longtime wheelchair sport athlete having participated in Wheelchair Basketball and Wheelchair Racquetball for many years. Terry is a past President of Manitoba Wheelchair Sport Association and an accountant by profession.
Secretary – Dave Bileski
Dave has been involved with sports for decades as an athlete, coach, parent and volunteer. A firm believer that Sport should provide Challenge and Fulfillment to all persons equally, regardless of ability. Accessible sport is an integral building block of a healthy community.
Janis Brackman – Board Member
Janis has been the Vice President of Manitoba Blind Sports Association for six years.. She brings her passion for advocacy and inclusion in sport and recreation for blind and vision-impaired persons!
Doris Koop – Board Member
Doris has been involved in accessible sport for decades. As a vision-impaired athlete, coach, builder, and, these days, she is the executive director of VIRN (the Vision Impaired Resource Network). We are honoured to have such a leader in accessible sport join our board!
David Tweed – Board Member
David has been living with a spinal cord injury for 45 years and in that time has been involved in many community initiatives relating to improving lives for people with a disability. He has been on boards and committees for the city of Winnipeg and Province of MB relating to addressing disability issues. He has also participated and supported MWSA for many years as a player, coach, and volunteer board member. As the owner of The Access Store for the past 30 years he has worked closely with many individuals with disabilities to supply many products and services to enhance their lives.
